A conventional incandescent light bulb turns only five to ten percent of its consumed energy into light and the rest goes out as heat. Now think of your booth space, its lighting, and how hot it can get even in the coldest of trade show venues.

Every company that goes to a tradeshow has their own special story about "the time we lost the exhibit ... or the time there was no place to sit ... or the time the graphics came on the last day of the show." It is the nature of the beast (the show) that things just go wrong! So, here we, Absolute Exhibits, go off to Germany and Euroshop to tell the exhibiting world that we are their trade show resource in the USA and we open the show without an exhibit. Needless to say we made our point - it is best to rent an exhibit in the show country rather than ship long distances.

Does the show bring you face-to-face with the people who buy what you sell? Begin by contacting your trade association for recommendations. If you're not involved with a trade group, find the associations that represent your industry.
While you're contemplating trade associations, consider trade shows that cater to your customers' industry, rather than yours. That is called niche marketing.

Well, not exactly - but why not combine your tradeshow gig with the family vacation?
If you are going to the Natural Marketplace (Jul 17-19), RTDA (Jul 14-18), ICAST - the American Sportfishing Show (Jul 16-18) or Cosmoprof (Jul 13-15) bring the entire family to Las Vegas. Room rates are down and there is plenty to do for the whole family - Hummer Tours, river rafting, the M&M's store, and the Shark Adventure at Mandalay Bay. Go to AACC (Jul 27-31) and tour Washington DC a great family vacation. The SouthEast Building Conference (Jul 30-Aug 1 ) in Orlando or the IAAM (Jul 25-29) in Anaheim gives you Disneyland and DisneyWorld on either coast. And last, but never least - San Francisco - for all of the Semicon visitors (Jul 15-18).
