Green Concious Exhibiting

Did you know that by using a tea bag without a string and a tag attached we prevent 3 million pounds of paper from being deposited in landfills – isn’t that incredible? I can add so many other concepts like this, as can everyone. And that is my point – we all have to do whatever we can to help the environment. Whether you believe in global warming or not – the overall concept of reducing paper usage, changing light bulbs, really recycling – these are all worth the effort for all of us.

With this in mind Absolute Exhibits has established a Green Conscious mandate. In a world where quality environment is key, where green grass is wanted, and where green drives business, how could the exhibit industry look the other way? - Read More

DisplaysandExhibits.com Online Super Store Launches

Okay - one more green comment - we are announcing the new website and online ordering service: www.DisplaysandExhibits.com. Hopefully a green saving for you and a little green for our pockets. This has been a labor of love (or hate, depending on the day) for our company. Congratulations to Nate Tieman who heads Displays and Exhibits, along with our webmaster Scott Wilson, and additional kudos to Paul Yap, Mary Cheng and Blanca Sanchez - our IT guy and our Graphics department. This has truly been a fight to the finish. Between all of them, the seminars and workshops they have attended, the endless phone calls and hours to reach semi-perfection, the weekends they have worked - they have created a real working e-commerce website. And, I have been told that we are ready to help our clients build there own e-commerce websites too. Take a look! - www.DisplaysandExhibits.com

Holiday Greetings

This issue is all about green – well almost since this is green and red! However it really is just about saying Happy Holidays to all of our clients, partners, and friends. This is a time to reflect about the past year and what it has brought to our table. On the most excellent side – we have bought a building and have new headquarters in Tustin, California. We have added a second building in Las Vegas so we have both a huge workshop and a new set-up floor, and a magnificent new graphic production department. That brings us to the middle ground – with growth and expansion comes more problems, more workers, and more work-shifts! However, thanks to all of you our business keeps growing and we will always stretch to keep up! On the not-so-nice side – while our lives are good – there are many people in constant stress and turmoil in their daily lives and we all need to be there for them, that is truly what gives us strength – helping others. We wish everyone a holiday to remember and a new year filled with opportunities for success. And of course, peace.

The Other Green Concious - Your Money

It is so easy to negotiate, negotiate, negotiate before a show with all of your vendors. But unruly, late planning pre-show can lead to thousands of dollars worth of billings on the show floor. You will be handed a number of bills on the show floor – many already run on your credit card. Do not wait if you see discrepancies – take action before you leave the show floor. We know the service lines are long – but a few minutes in line can save you thousands of minutes waiting on the phone and then more time waiting to receive the proof paperwork that you have requested. It is quite funny how the show contractor wins when you have not paid previous bills and they are your show contractor again the following year. In most cases, you will not be allowed onto the show floor for your next show with unpaid bills. So take the time to clear up your billing questions before you leave the show.

Green on the Show Floor

Warming your show environment with a potted plant on the floor, a bouquet of flowers on your reception desk, or a row of wheat grass or bamboo in floor boxes, adds a receptive touch to your booth space. In most cases it is best to order right from the official show florist. However, always call directly – just do not click a box with your pen and hope for fabulous. Remember flowers always say welcome.

Planning for April - It's Truly Show Time!

April showers bring May flowers – that is as close to green as I can get – except the All Things Organic Show in Chicago this coming April. What a variety of shows greats us in April. NAB – the North American Broadcasters has grown to enormous proportions every year in Las Vegas – now over 105,000 people. On the other side of the USA – we have Coverings returning to Orlando from Chicago last year – this is an incredible exhibition and very international in flavor. KBIS – the kitchen and bath show moves back and forth between Chicago and Las Vegas – and has its own television show after the trade show. One of the all time favorites is back in Las Vegas again – the Pizza Expo – they actually hand you beer and a slice when you walk through the door! Do not eat breakfast before this show. Also look for SPESA in Miami, Apex/IPC in Las Vegas, the International Beauty Show in New York, and NASFT - Specialty Food Market in Chicago.
