Getting a Great Deal

Who amongst us does not want the best deal, the best service, and the best of the best? However to get this "best deal" you must compare apples to apples and make certain that everything is included in your quote. We recently had a client switch to a different exhibit house - and quite truthfully the design they were given and that was produced on the show floor was magnificent. Our fault was that we stuck to their budget and included all of the services that they listed. The other exhibit house did not.

Result - they were faced with an additional $9,000 in post show billings. These billings were a result of extra charges on the show floor which included installation and dismantle charges, more charges for re-arranging parts of the exhibit, and the client's last minute on-the-floor decision to move out on Sunday at overtime. How can you get around this? Consider using a full service exhibit house. An exhibit house that starts at the design process, engineers the exhibit, fabricates everything, produces the graphics, produces a quote that contains installation and dismantle, as well as shipping charges, and takes your exhibit to the show floor and builds it.

This is one of many scenarios on the show floor - but the bottom line is that the least use of outside influences, the more control stands with your exhibit house. Think about this - the same people design, build, and install your exhibit. This gives you much more control and of course, less stress through the entire process. By the way - the client came back for three shows this year. That's another quick lesson for all of us - on both sides - don't burn bridges and be willing to admit when you have made the wrong call.
