Viewing Your Exhibit for the First Time

    One of the most unnerving situations when you approach the show floor is the reality of what your exhibit really looks like. Now you might be saying what does that mean? - it looks like the rendering we got 8 weeks ago. Well hopefully it does - but what I am really saying is this - is your exhibit booth the dynamic, vibrant display you imagined when you view it? Or, have you lost your luster amongst all the exhibits on the show floor?

    This is not a preposterous question. A few years ago we attended the Super Show in Atlanta - an enormous show with over 100,000 attendees. One part of the venue was the football stadium at the end of the Georgia World Congress. Sitting having a hot dog on the upper tier we spotted an enormous exhibit that looked to be three stories tall, much like a small stadium with mannequins in the bleachers and 12 giant plasma television screens. So, off we went to view this incredible exhibit on the show floor. Guess what? We could not find it! There were so many extravagant exhibits surrounding it - it actually did not stick out in the crowd. So here is a large company, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, and lo and behold cannot be seen.

    The moral to this story - think about what surrounds you. Other exhibitors, walls and columns inside the convention venue, signage hanging from above - how many times does one particular sign stand out from around the room, while others just float in space? Use your exhibit company - they go to hundreds of shows a year and know how to make you stand out. Look at pictures, our sales people send countless numbers from show sites, so that you can make a reliable decision where to put your money to get the attention you deserve.
